  • Students will learn how to edit and format a document. This includes tasks like selecting, moving, copying, deleting, and inserting text. They will also learn how to use features like find and replace, proofreading tools (spelling and grammar checking, thesaurus, auto-correct, undo and redo), and formatting options for text (bolding, italicizing, underlining, fonts, drop caps, change case, superscript/subscript), paragraphs (alignment, indenting, spacing, section breaks, bullets and numbering), and pages (layout).
  1. Creating and Editing a Table:
  • Students will learn how to create and edit tables, including tasks like resizing rows/columns, inserting/deleting rows/columns, merging rows/columns, and formatting tables with borders and shading. They will also learn about table conversations (converting text to table, converting tables to text, importing), arithmetic calculations, and sorting.
  1. Creating and Updating a Mail Merge Document:
  • Students will learn how to create and update mail merge documents, such as form letters, labels, and envelopes. They will learn how to create or import a data source, merge fields from the main document with the data source, and update the merged document.
  1. Printing a Document:
  • Students will learn how to set up the printer, preview the document before printing, and select print options like orientation, page and copy settings. They will also learn how to print the document.
  1. Inserting Graphics:
  • Students will learn about different types of graphics, including drawings, pictures, and charts. They will learn how to insert graphics into a document, either by importing them or drawing them. They will also learn how to edit graphical objects, such as updating and resizing them.

These topics cover the various aspects of word processing, from basic tasks like creating and editing documents to more advanced features like mail merge and graphics. By the end of the course, students should have a strong understanding of how to effectively use a word processor to create and format documents.
