Why coastal people were against the Portuguese?                     

  1. The Portuguese hated Islam and Muslims
  2. The Portuguese forced Muslims to become Christians
  3. The Portuguese burnt Mosques and Madrasa
  4. They killed many Muslims
  5. They made them to pay heavy taxes.
  6. They ruled by torture and sword
  7. They burnt houses and destroyed plantations.
