State TWO advantages and ONE disadvantage of Video conferencing

Computer students visited a local TV station in the city and noticed that news presenter in studio was communicating in real time with other four reporters through a web cam and a microphone connected to a notebook PC nearby. The live images of the other reporters were projected on a white board mounted in the studio.

Describe this type of communication

Video conference – it is whereby members of a particular group are able to hold meeting/discussions in real time mode though each individual is far apart geographically

State TWO advantages and ONE disadvantage of this type of communication

Advantages

  1. It minimizes the travelling cost incurred by members
  2. It does not require large room for holding meeting (save space)

Disadvantages

  1. Require that each member must have ICT equipment that may be costly.
  2. There must be constant connection to the net for its effectiveness
